Our Saskatoon branch is growing, and we are looking to add a capable and enthusiastic junior Civil Engineering Technologist to our existing team of professionals. The local team consists of eight committed professionals who serve our municipal, land development, and Indigenous clients across Saskatchewan.
In this position, you will be exposed to a variety of project work within our communities and land development practice. You will work alongside our team of professionals to provide general drafting and design support from preliminary through to detailed design, as well as periodic on-site inspection of various land development projects throughout Saskatchewan. Specifically, you can expect to be involved in:
Carrying out design/drafting, drawing production, cost estimating and quantity take-offs, and construction specifications;
Communicating with Design/Production team members and project leaders across our multiple offices;
Ensuring quality control and verifying accuracy of both design and drafting production work;
Performing on-site inspection for local projects;
Advising team on technical problems and troubleshooting; and
Promoting and instilling a sense of teamwork amongst coworkers.
Our preferred candidate will be a recent or upcoming graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology diploma program. The candidate should be registered or eligible for registration with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians. In addition, the ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills, interests, and attributes:
You are highly proficient in AutoCAD and civil design software including Civil 3D (required);
You possess excellent drafting skills with good knowledge of drawing set-up and production;
You can interpret construction plans and drawings, accurately perform mathematical computations, review and interpret engineering data, and make sound decisions based upon the information;
You are highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software products;
You possess GIS and modelling (WaterCAD, PCSWMM) experience (an asset);
You are suited to consulting given your instincts for:
Providing great service to internal and external clients

Employing multiple communication styles to deliver information to internal and external clients

You have effective communication skills including technical, written, and verbal;

You have on-site field/construction experience (an asset);
You are able to travel to project sites within Saskatchewan and hold a valid class 5 drivers license and access to a vehicle; and
You are registered or eligible for registration with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians.
