Job Description (EN)

Our Calgary office has a current opening for two enthusiastic Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) or Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) Civil Engineering Technology students to join our team for the duration of their respective work term requirements starting in May 2018. This opportunity will be available to first or second year students.

This opportunity will involve varied experience working with seasoned veterans and recent graduates alike.
 
Typical duties may include:

  • Field Work –survey assistant work and construction inspection. 
    • Review construction drawings and grade sheets
    • Support survey crews when required
    • Communication with contractors, client, internal project managers
    • Technical experience with municipal construction projects
    • Documentation of ongoing construction site progress
    • Following tender documents and administering contracts to the contractor

The salary for this position will be $20-23 per hour based on a 40 hour work week and dependant on the successful candidates’ skill and abilities.

 

About You

 

Our preferred candidate is currently enrolled at SAIT or NAIT in the Civil Engineering Technology program and possesses the following skills, strengths and interests:

  • Strong computer skills and highly proficient with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D;
  • Familiarity with GIS or Autodesk Map would be an asset;
  • A self-starter that can work independently AND collaborate effectively with others;
  • Known for producing high quality work under all circumstances;
  • Energetic and enthusiastic and able to thrive in a fast paced environment;
  • Committed to ongoing personal and professional development, and
  • The applicant must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and provide their own personal vehicle. You will be reimbursed for mileage incurred during your work hours.
